TO RELIEVE YOURSELF FROM THE DISCOMFORTING SYMPTOMS OF COMPUTER VISION SYNDROME, DO THE FOLLOWING…..
  1. Adjust the height of your work chair to be compatible with your work desk.
  2. Use a very comfortable chair with a high and comfortable back rest.
  3. Ensure that your room lighting is bright and that there’s no interference from sunlight.
  4. Ensure to take short walks every 2 hours.
  5. After every 20minutes take a  break to stare at a distance of about 20feet for about 20secs.
  6. Apply artificial tears drop periodically to ensure continuous lubrication of the outer surface of the eye.
  7. Correct all refractive Errors if there’s any.
  8. Use photochromic or bluecut glasses when working.
PRESENTATION  OF ASTIGMATISM
  1. Stubborn headaches that won’t go even with the strongest of pain killers.

2. Recurrent stye

3. Itching.

4. Double vision

4. Blurry vision at far and or near distance

5. Always feeling dizzy and unmotivated to read or work with your digital devices.

6. Photophobia ( discomforts when exposed to bright light)

7. Light appearing in streaks.

ANISOMETROPIA

This occurs when both eyes different degree of refractive Errors, with difference of up to 3:00D….

This condition is usually congenital. And it causes a sort varying retinal image sizes for both eyes and as a result the brain tend to suppress the weaker eye. Leading to amblyopia.

A rare type of anisometropia is antimetropia. Whereby one eye has myopia and the other has hyperopia.

AMBLYOPIA

Amblyopia or lazy eye is a reduction in vision of one or both eyes due to poor development of vision in childhood.

In cases like this, the eye with poor vision is ignored by the brain.

Conditions that can cause amblyopia includes strabismus, refractive Errors, cataract et.c

Amblyopia is treated by each of the following techniques or a combination of all of them, use of prescription glasses, Atropization, patching, vision therapy, eye exercises et.c

LASIK

This laser procedure involves the use of femtosecond laser or microkerotome to expose the cornea stroma and then using excimer laser to reshape the Cornea stroma inorder to improve visual acuity..

LASIK is an acronym for laser assisted in situ keratomileusis. This is a surgical procedure used to correct refractive Errors like myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism.

Asthenopia (Eye fatigue)



Eye fatigue along side headache?

Eye strain can be referred to as eye fatigue or tiredness. This can occur as a result of using the eyes intensively. For instance, staring at the phone screen or other gadgets for hours. In addition staring at tiny objects at long distance can also results to the fatigue of the eye. It can also be as a result of refractive Errors like presbyopia and hyperopia.

Signs and symptoms of asthenopia includes burning sensation, teary eyes, pain, headache, dizziness et.c

Precautions
  ° Taking a break: You can relieve your eyes from the stress by taking a break.

  • Look away from the gadgets for few minutes or hours
  • Take a cool bath or wash your face with cool water to stop eye burning and to cool down the temperature

Note: if you are still experiencing discomfort in the eyes, it’s advisable to consult an optometrist or visit an eye clinic.
